The ukactive KIDS Council

ukactive is seeking nominations for upcoming positions on our ukactive KIDS Council.


Following 18 months of dedicated service, the tenures of the following representatives have come to an end and we thank them for their invaluable work over this time in helping to drive forward ukactive KIDS and the wider physical activity sector.

  • David Batch (Premier Sport) - Children's Activity Provider
  • Dr Lala Manners (Active Matters) -Early Years Expert
  • Glen Staite-Loveridge (Places for People Leisure) - Public Operator Expert
  • Jean-Ann Marnock (Les Mills) - Activity Provider
  • Peter Ackred (Disability Sports Coach) - Children's Disability Expert
  • Robert Shadbolt (Wood Green School) - Secondary School Expert
  • Will Atterbury (Planet Education) - Children's Activity Provider
  • Am Rai (Montpelier Primary School) - Education/Primary School Expert


While we will be sad to lose the services of these talented individuals, although they are available to stand again, we are pleased to be able to offer ukactive members the exciting opportunity to apply for these positions to help lead us - and the sector - through a new era of growth and development.

We are now requesting applications by the deadline of 8th January 2018 from individuals who wish to occupy the following seats:

  • Early Years Provider
  • Primary Education Specialist
  • Secondary Education Specialist
  • Children's health Specialist
  • Children's Safeguarding Specialist


To apply for a position, please send this completed document to by 8th January 2018.

Members who apply for a position on this Council should meet the following criteria:

  • They hold a senior executive/management position within their organisation
  • They have sufficient experience within the sector
  • They can demonstrate that they have a strong network and are equipped to speak on behalf of their sub-sector
  • They can show that they are a strong advocate of ukactive's work and have been sufficiently engaged with the organisation through attendance at key events and discussions

To meet the requirements for these positions, each applicant must agree to:

  • The role being a voluntary position with no payment for services
  • Their respective organisation remaining a member of ukactive for the duration of their position
  • Providing a minimum of four days' commitment per annum to the post to attend relevant meetings
  • Committing to being in post for at least a 24-month continuous period
  • Attend key ukactive sector events, such as the Flame Conference and Awards, plus National Summit.

Appointments will be subject to nominations and then agreement from the nominations committee.
