Finalists announced for the Active Training Awards 2014

ukactive today announced the finalists for the Active Training Awards 2014. The Active Training Awards celebrates exceptional performance and commitment in vocational training and development within the physical activity sector. The Active Training Awards is run in partnership with the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA), and is sponsored by Active IQ.

David Stalker, CEO, ukactive and Chairman, CIMSPA, says, "We are delighted to be able to recognise exceptional performance in workforce development within the physical activity sector in the inaugural year of our leadership of the Active Training Awards. Not only has the standard of entries been excellent, but the popularity of the Awards has been overwhelming. We are committed to promoting excellence in this area - it is the bedrock of physical activity provision. We look forward to celebrating with all the finalists at this year's Active Training Awards Night on Thursday 27th November."

Tara Dillon, Interim COO, CIMSPA, added, "I have been really impressed with both the calibre and enthusiasm of the entrants. CIMSPA is committed to the pursuit of excellence in this context and this event epitomises our belief in driving up standards and professionalising our sector. I'm looking forward to seeing colleagues, old and new, at both the workshop and awards night."

The Active Training Awards will be presented at the Awards Night on Thursday 27th November at the Crowne Plaza in Marlow. The event will bring together over 150 training providers, employers and learners to celebrate excellence in education, training and development.

In addition to the Awards night Gala dinner, ukactive and CIMSPA will host an afternoon training workshop to share insights on workforce development and facilitate a robust discussion on education and training. With leading sector employers from the public and private sector as panellists, the workshop is a must attend for any organisation in this arena. This workshop underscores ukactive and CIMSPA's ongoing commitment to driving the best practice and knowledge sharing agenda around vocational training in the sector.

The shortlist of Active Training Awards Finalists 2014 is available to view now on the ukactive website (see notes to editor). Tickets to the awards night and afternoon workshop are available to buy now through the ukactive website: https://www.eventsforce.net/fia/frontend/reg/fhome.csp?eventID=43
