Get Going with Change4Life? What is it?

ukactive has joined up with Change4Life to deliver a campaign to help get people moving more over the Summer and beyond.

Change4Life has loads of great ideas, tools, tips and online activity plans to help people in your local communities get up and about over the summer holidays.

And because healthy habits can slip over the summer, this year Change4Life is giving families a little help to start the new school term on the right foot too by helping them make small changes to get healthier.

How can I get involved?
We're encouraging operators to host two open weekends in celebration of the one year anniversary of the Olympics and Paralympics, celebrating the weekends of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies with family friendly activities for all to try.

Dates

  • 27th-28th July 2014
  • 7th-8th September 2014

However you may wish to run events at other points across the summer. We are happy for you to do so with the support of the campaign from 8th July onwards.

What assistance will I receive?
It is expected that operators take responsibility for the local promotion of their events and do not rely on the promotional support provided centrally. Guidance and advice will be available for operators so as to maximise the effectiveness of their open weekend.

In return for agreeing to do so, the first 1000 sites to register their commitment will be supplied with a free of charge pack of promotional collateral to help drive awareness of their involvement in the campaign as well as supply access to the Change4Life brand assets to help you develop your own co-branded support materials.

This free of charge pack of promotional collateral will include:

  • Posters - A1 x 1, A3 x 2, A4 x 4
  • Bunting - 1 x 10m length
  • Banner - 1 x (3m x 10m)
  • Customer registration pack x 750
  • Draw string sports bags x 3
  • Water bottle x 30
  • Fun wheels x 30
  • Sticker sheets x 20

Additional central promotion will come from:

  • Emailing the Change4Life database of over 700,000 families who want information about how to be healthy and providing details of events in their local area x 2
  • Promotion to 72,000 local Change4Life supporter network with a specific request that they assist in the promotion of these events
  • Local media partnership directly with Change4Life
  • Via social media channels of Change4Life (173,000 fans on Facebook, 40,000 twitter followers) and associated partners

There will be a number of awards for participating operators:
Best Regional Event-x9
Overall Best Event

These awards will be handed out at the ukactive Summit in November 2014.

Does Change4Life really resonate with my target audience?

  • Change4Life has continued to grow as a brand with over 1.million families registered with Change4Life
  • It enjoys an 86% prompted brand awareness level amongst mums and has a mean score of 4.29/5 when mums are asked whether they trust the brand
  • 61% of mums have stated that they have thought about their lifestyle habits as a result of Change4Life
  • 46% said they had made real changes to their lifestyle as a result of Change4Life interventions

In short, Change4Life is a uniquely powerful brand designed to achieve the goal of "move more, live longer" and it's absolutely vital that we get behind it to help it succeed
