Moving More, Living More

Event summary
The Moving More, Living More regional physical activity fora were established as nationally-led, locally-determined events to support local prioritisation and collaboration on physical activity. Between the 2nd and 13th March 2015, ukactive, Public Health England (PHE), the County Sports Partnership Network (CSPN) and the Local Government Association (LGA), in conjunction with other national and local partners, delivered the second round of the Moving More, Living More, Regional Physical Activity Fora.
Following the launch of the national framework Everybody Active, Every Day in October 2014, this second round of regional fora were designed to enable the local cross-sector partners to come together again to reflect on what they had achieved so far and agree how to realise emerging opportunities.
Held across five different regions /cities, South-West (Taunton), South East (London), London (London), North West (Blackpool) and Midlands (Birmingham), the fora were hugely successful, attracting over 600 individuals with a diversity of cross-sector individuals enabling stimulating discussion on collaboration and local action.
We hope that the fora have moved the local agenda for physical activity forward and provided a platform for local partnership to take the next steps towards reducing levels of physical inactivity in their local populations.
