About National Summit

Physical activity, and the sector that delivers it, is the backbone of a modern Britain: vital to its wellbeing, but inextricably connected and influenced by a wide array of other sectors and institutions. From construction, housing and building developers, to employee benefits providers, and the insurance, retail and business sectors – all can have a tremendous impact on our ambition to reverse generation inactive, transform working life and reimagine ageing.

On Thursday 31st October 2019, the ukactive National Summit 2019 will address how physical activity impacts and is impacted by:
  • How we live
  • Where we live
  • How we work
The Summit will also provide an opportunity to progress the conversation that began at active uprising around our sector’s core role of uniting a movement of an active nation and show the value of the sector in three crucial policy areas:  turning generation inactive into generation active, transforming working life and reimagining ageing.
Previous speakers have included NHS England Chief Executive Simon Stevens, Deputy Labour Leader Tom Watson, former Disabilities Minister – now Secretary of State for International Development – Penny Mordaunt and Rugby World Cup Winner Lawrence Dallaglio MBE.
