The ukactive Awards are widely recognised as some of the most prestigious accolades in the health and fitness sector. The Awards recognise standout individuals, teams and organisations from across the physical activity sector that are driving positive change across the UK.
Each year, the awards shine a light on innovation, dedication and impact in our industry and this year’s process has undergone some changes to ensure a better experience for all our applicants.
After an industry-wide review, we have implemented several important updates to ensure the awards are the most inclusive, transparent and impactful that they can be. These changes were driven by invaluable feedback directly from organisations across the sector.
So, what’s new for 2025?
- Three new regional sector awards
To keep our awards representational across all corners of the industry, three new categories within the previous ‘Club/Centre of the Year Award’ have been introduced.
The new categories recognise excellence among independent, private sector, and public sector operators, allowing every type of operator a chance to be celebrated on a national stage.
- A brand-new website
The ukactive Awards website has a new look! With a complete redesign, a cleaner layout, enhanced navigation and improved access to all the key information and resources, it’s easier than ever to find what you need, whether entering the awards or looking for inspiration from previous winners.
- A simplified entry guide
The 2025 Entry Guide has been streamlined to help entrants quickly and clearly understand the process. By making a few changes, the new entry guide gives a better understanding of dates and timelines, and clearer ways to ensure your entry highlights exactly what the judges are looking for. We’ve also made the questions you’ll be asked easier to find so you have everything you need to hand. With our updates, it’s now easier than ever to highlight your achievements and share your story.
- An updated public voting process
To make sure we maintain fairness and integrity throughout the process, the public voting stage for the Individual Achievement Award (Stage Two) now allows just one vote per organisation. This change helps to ensure a level playing field and greater accuracy in celebrating individual contributions.
- An enhanced judging process
We’ve introduced an additional judge at Stage One to enhance the quality and fairness of assessments. This also allows for more thorough and valuable feedback for all entrants.
- Refined criteria for the Outstanding Organisation Award
In a big shift, the Outstanding Organisation Award is no longer based on the number of entries submitted. Instead, it will be awarded exclusively to one of the winners from awards A4 to B11, determined by the highest combined score across both judging stages.
Our sector is essential in reaching and supporting a wide range of communities across the UK to get active and stay healthy. The ukactive Awards are the perfect opportunity to showcase and honour the phenomenal work our industry does and whether you’re leading innovation, transforming local communities, or inspiring the next generation of healthier lives, entering the ukactive Awards is a powerful way to gain recognition and share your success.
Don’t miss your chance to be part of the industry’s biggest celebration of excellence – entries for the 2025 ukactive Awards close on 20 June. For more information and to enter, visit the new ukactive Awards website.
