To celebrate National Fitness Day 2025, a new blog series shares the success of ukactive members that have helped power the campaign. The series explores the benefits that getting involved in National Fitness Day can have for organisations and their communities.

In this blog, we hear from 3d’s Leisure’s Digital Marketing Manager, Andy Rudkin, who explains how the business has participated in National Fitness Day, including hosting virtual PE lessons and a charity Cyclethon.

3d Leisure has been supporting National Fitness Day for years; each year doing something different across over 100 sites in the UK. For our past events, we’ve totalled the mileage from our various challenges and have accumulated enough miles to go from pole to pole and to the moon and back, all in support of this fantastic initiative.

One of our main ethos’s is community, and we strive to create that community feel in all of our clubs.  National Fitness Day gives us the opportunity to open our doors to the local community, inviting them to take part in exercise and experience the uplifting benefits it brings.

We always receive positive feedback from our members after hosting National Fitness Day events. Our members are proud to play their part in contributing to the day and supporting the wider community. Not only does hosting events help to attract new members, but it also supports our wider organisational mission of promoting fitness as a concept and getting more people active.

One of our biggest National Fitness Day success stories was hosting a virtual live PE class across schools in the UK, which was attended by over 10,000 children. Seeing that many children being active together was a humbling experience, and all in aid of National Fitness Day.

This year, for National Fitness Day 2025, we are running a 12-hour ‘Cyclethon’ in all of our sites. The doors will be open to all, asking them to complete 30 minutes each to help their site reach the 12-hour goal, and hopefully achieving a mammoth total mileage at the same time!

We will continue to support this event for years to come and thank all of those who support it alongside us. Getting people active is the drive, and the steering wheel is in our hands.

To help you get involved in National Fitness Day this year, we’ve put together a digital toolkit full of helpful resources designed to help you plan and promote your National Fitness Day plans – download the toolkit here
