The ukactive Research Institute partnered with Oxygen Freejumping to explore the effects of trampoline park sessions on children’s heart rate, energy expenditure, and affective responses in comparison to traditional extra-curricular sports clubs including soccer and netball. This research showed that both trampoline park sessions and traditional extra-curricular sports clubs provide moderate-vigorous physical activity, though slightly higher heart rate and energy expenditure for the former. Both however produce similar positive affective responses. As such, both could be valuable options for PA opportunities for children. See the full study here
