ukactive Board Elections

ukactive Board Elections

What is the opportunity

ukactive has an opportunity to join its Board of Directors to help steer the organisation in its mission to get more people, more active, more often.
The opportunity is for those who work in the Private Leisure sector.
This role is elected to represent their section of the ukactive membership and ensure that the views of the Membership are fed in to the strategy and operations of the organisation.
The role is elected on an initial 3 year term and is not remunerated

About the Board

The Board is chaired by Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson and includes a wealth of experience from across the health and fitness sector.

Interested parties are invited to submit an application along with endorsements from 2 current ukactive member organisations. Please note, endorsements must come from a senior individual at these organisations.

Further rules relating to the application are included on the website.

Applicants are only able to stand in the category that their organisation represents. E.g. if you represent a local authority leisure provider then you are not able to stand for the private leisure sector seat.

Applications close on 21st August. Applicants will be reviewed by the ukactive Nominations Committee and a final list of applicants will be confirmed by 28th August. Elections with the ukactive membership will then take place between 7th and 27th September. Only ukactive members will be able to vote in these elections.

Successful candidates will be informed on 2nd October, and will then be invited to the Board meeting on 22nd October which is current planned to be held virtually (normal meetings take place in the ukactive office in Holborn, London).
